Barbara Clary/Conservation, Finance & Hiring Committees

Barbara Clary, originally from a small community in southern Pennsylvania, earned a B.S. in Agricultural Biotechnology and an M.S. in Plant Science from the University of Kentucky. Her career took her to California to work as a Scientist in the Agricultural Biotechnology and Biosciences industries, and then as a Project/Program Manager in Life Science Research, Clinical Diagnostics and Medical Devices industries.
In 2012 she moved to a small farm on the South Fork Coquille River near Myrtle Point where she continued in her Program Management role remotely before starting a non-profit animal rescue. In addition to her role as founder, President, and sole employee of Lazy Grazers Refuge Ranch, Barbara and her spouse, Michael work on a number of projects aimed at protecting, restoring, and creating habitat on the farm. Current projects focus on excluding animal residents from aquatic habitat, restoring riparian and upland forest habitat, and establishing off-channel refuge for Coho Salmon and other native fish species.
When not attending to the rescue and other farm responsibilities, Barbara enjoys reading, crochet/knitting, embroidery, gardening, baking, hiking, listening to music and spending time with/being trained by her four dogs.
